Ruby/Python developer

Porto Alegre

We are looking for a versatile Python/Ruby software developer to join our team in Porto Alegre. Together with your peers, you will be responsible for the technical design, implementation, and code quality of the systems across a range of client projects. We are working with several clients that are using Python, and the current priority project is a niche training platform where we support the client with multiple integrations to their core system. The platform has a service-oriented architecture featuring Python-based microservices, databases, a React frontend, and an event queue.

You'll work alongside a dedicated team of developers and infrastructure engineers in Porto Alegre, as well as with our development teams in Sweden and Germany, and our client's team. Your ability to work with remote teams is essential, as is fluency in English.

What you will get to do

• Work with modern web development with Python (FastAPI) or Ruby (Ruby on Rails)

• Peer review code

• Add tests to existing code and write testable code

• Understand the customer's needs and encourage discussions to resolve problems or realize ideas

• Participate in supporting other team members and projects the team owns via pair programming and technical discussions

To succeed in this role, we believe that you

• Are fluent in English

• Live in Porto Alegre or the Greater Porto Alegre region

• Have a good understanding of the technologies that form the basis for web applications

• Thrives in a varied work environment—prior freelance or multi-project experience is a plus

• Are an efficient Git user

• Have an ability to understand the overall picture/end product

• Own your work tasks from start to finish, have your drive, and be self-motivated

• Are curious about AI and how it is affecting the role of a developer and the products we build
